Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She is the host of her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and pumped-up presence, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers clear, easy to learn techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was also employed by various top eateries that are located in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell began to develop a love of culinary arts and cooking from the age of. The Culinary Institute of America was a natural next step for her after she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing experience for me. I could not learn or do enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell took a gap year to Italy attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners during her time at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she grew to truly comprehend and appreciate the principles of Italian cuisine and culture which created a lasting impact from a culinary standpoint. Burrell was on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which improves children's lives who have obstacles and is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Ambassador where she promotes juvenile diabetes awareness. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor, she travels all over the US to talk about the joy of cooking as well as her professional career. Anne declared that she felt fortunate that I could share her true passion with other people.
