Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network Series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook she demonstrates easy-to-master techniques as well as her distinctive spikey blonde locks. Chef Burrell has also worked in several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, studied Italian cuisine along with its traditional recipes, and participated in Food Network Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell began to develop a love of culinary arts and cooking from the age of. After obtaining an English and Communications degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she became interested in the industry of restaurants by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing opportunity for me. It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating, Chef Burrell spent a year in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian style of living and the culture and has made an impression on her perception of food. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of children who face challenges. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for awareness of children with diabetes. In her role as an inspirational speaker, she is on the road to speak about her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne has said throughout her culinary career she's extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is most important to her.
