Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, provides easy techniques anyone can grasp. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of New York's top establishments, studied Italian food as well as its traditions. She also took part in Food Network Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell was able to discover a love of food and cooking at an early age. After obtaining an English and Communications degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she became interested in the world of food and restaurant management by enrolled as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. According to her "I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." I was unable to learn enough, didn't perform enough or work hard enough. Chef Burrell was a graduate of the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy was employed for a year in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. Her time spent in Italy made her more aware and appreciate Italian way of life and its culture which has had an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who face challenges. She is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she promotes children with diabetes and awareness. In her role as an inspirational speaker, she is on the road to promote her love for food and her culinary career. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career that she feels so fortunate to have the opportunity to be able to share what's really important to her.
