Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and an exuberant persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides straightforward, simple techniques to master for the at-home cook on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious restaurants that are located in New York, studied the tradition of Italian cuisine, and the culinary landscape in Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for culinary arts and food at the age of a child. After receiving an English and Communication degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she started to pursue her passion for the world of food and restaurant management by enrolled as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. I was awed by every minute as a student The Culinary Institute of America she says. I could not learn or learn enough. After graduating, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy attending Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions throughout her time in Italy and this has affected the way she cooks. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. Additionally, she was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps children who are struggling. as a speaker, guest and mentor, she travels all over the U.S. to share the joy of cooking as well as her career. Through her culinary adventures, Anne often says that she feels very fortunate to share my passion to others.
